Director: Daniel Rudi Haryanto


Daniel Rudi Haryanto
Born in Semarang, Central Java, 17 April 1978. He is a gradute from Film and Television Faculty, Jakarta Arts Institute, majoring in documentary. He has been active in student movement during reform in 1998 and affiliated with Front Jakarta. In 1999, he and some friends established Cinema Society, an organization focused on Indonesian cinema studies and research. The organization has held many film seminars and workshop and published two editions of film magazine ‘Cinema Society’. He worked for some film festivals, such as Jakarta international film festival, Konfiden short film festival, Reform film festival, and numerous short film festivals in Jakarta and some other cities. With Gotot Prakosa, he initiated Art Cinema Taman Ismail Marzuki in Jakarta in 2005.

During his study, he made several short films, among other: Asap Sigaret (Cigarette smoke, 15 min, fiction, video), Molotov (10 min, instructional video,video), Di Balik Layar Bayangan Cantik (Behind the Beautiful Shadow, 20 min, documentary, video), Uro Raya di Jakarta (24 min, documentary, video), Film as terror (10 min, fiction, video), and Private Room (30 min, documentary, video). He works as behind-the-scene maker for Indonesian film industry with more than 10 projects while keep making documentary.
